My thoughts as a new Goldwing owner

I'm happy to be posting this. Due to some physical wear and tear, I thought that maybe a Goldwing or an Electraglide would suit me better than the Concours 14 I was riding. I had to sell my two dirt bikes, I just physically just couldn't go out and ride them anymore. So, I saw that my local dealer had a 2005 Goldwing for sale on consignment. I got my self down there, and took it on a test ride. I loved it! I bought it. What strikes me as so surprising is just what a great bike this is. I mean, for years I have heard that the Wing is what you want if you are going to tour the country. No one said that the Wing is the ultimate sport tourer. The motor is killer! The handling is great, perfectly able to do everything I want to do. And I do still have fun on the twisties. The comfort is very welcome, the riding position is just what I need. And did I say that I love the motor? How has this been kept secret for so long? I am an internet dolt, I would be glad to post a picture of my Wing, but I need to know how.

Welcome to the forum from southeast Pennsylvania.

Before I purchased my 2004 in 2004 I was told to make sure I brought my checkbook with me because you didn't "test drive" a Gold Wing - you DRIVE it home. As you found out - it is the sleeper of the internet LOL.

While Chopin is (kinda) correct about the pavement - if you RELAX on the gravel and dirt roads you will find yourself on - darn GPS shortcuts - you can even enjoy the off road moments (just make sure momma doesn't shift more than the transmission LOL).

The "OLD MAN'S" bike stigma is hard the break, but once you throw a leg over and give a good evaluation there are many converts.

As far as attaching pics. It's fairly simple.

If on a PC just scroll down when posting a reply "click" on the manage attachment tab. That opens a window that will allow you to upload a pic, then attach it to the message, and finally post. Keep in mind the file size needs to be under 97.7kb for a jpg. file. The software of the site should resize a photo for you but I have had it not work sometimes.

If you are working on the TapaTalk app on your phone it is even easier. Just scroll down when posting a reply and "click" on the file upload, access your gallery or take a pic. Then post reply. There is no file size limit on the phone, it automatically will resize.

Whoever said a woman can't make up their mind never met a Male Motorcycle Rider

Being as I am a convert from a 2005 Electra Glide to a 2015 Wing, you definitely made the right choice. When you twist the throttle on the Wing, things happen rather quickly and your teeth don't rattle in the process. Welcome to our world. Enjoy.

The only problem with owning and riding a Gold Wing, is getting that grin off your face every time you fire it up.
