I went through this a few years ago. Lost a whole trunk full of gear. We had babies too, but I didn't notice in time and they had time to raise them! They were in the trunk, in the air filter, everywhere! Birdseed was the culprit for us as well. We'll never have birdseed in our garage again! I had a dozen traps set and poison out as well. I believe I caught over 25 of the little [email protected][email protected]'$. Found two entrances into the garage and repaired them both. Every fall now I re-bait the traps and empty the bike and put bounce sheets in all the luggage. I also no longer put my half cover on the bike in storage, as I'm sure that's how they managed to get to the trunk latch which is where I believe they got in.

Good luck with the mess and as has been said, cover those air intakes with screen.
