High mileage purchase?

Beautiful 01 for sale not far from me. Well maintained and has 152,000 miles. Ive talked to the shop where its been serviced and their technician told me that its a good bike and should have a long life left. Ive heard Goldwings are bullet proof. Just curious what members of this forum might think. Thanks for any information.

Put 220,000 on my 2006 before it was totaled and it still ran like a top. At 211,000 miles did a ride across the Trans-Labrador-Highway and with the exception
of a stuck ignition switch, sand got in it, not a single problem. So if the price is right and you like the bike go for it .

Wings are known for great longevity, like @Jinx says if the price is right.....but I'll also add....

Does it sing the ride me song to you??? If the answer is yes than all systems go. If the answer is ehhhh it's a nice bike than keep searching, plenty of nice Wings out there to be had.

Yes, mine has had 1 rear diff changed out at 280,000. I just put an OEM alternator on last week, Monotubes installed at 280,000 and rear shock changed out also.... I bought this wing from a good friend of mine and he pulled a trailer with it up to about 290,000 miles DAILY...Maintenance is the key...This is our 4th wing and I used to work in a GOLDWING shop so I know my way around these bikes....

Lots of other stuff to wear out, alternator, final drive, wheel bearings, steering head bearings, to name a few. many recalls and service bulletins on the 01 Wings. Check with the service department that did the work and see what was done. Frames on the early 1800 wings developed cracks in places other than where Honda did the reweld. I know there are lots of great high mileage wings out there and there are a lot of wings with problems. Check tech page on gold wing forums and you will see several.
Here is al ink to recalls on the wings, check it out

It's a motorcycle, expect wind!!

I'd prefer less miles to be honest. There are plenty of goldwings out there for sale. Guessing that bike with 152k was priced very low?

Thank you guys for the info.

The bike is being offered at $5200 negotiable. A big draw for me is its yellow color and its exterior is in great shape and he has maintenance records.
