Advice on purchsae of used GW

I’m in the process of purchasing my first GE. It’s a 1989 GL1500 trike in stunning condition with 41,000 miles on the clock. Are there any particular questions I should ask tthe current owner before handing over the cash?

Might see if they have any maintenance Records, At that age it's time for the timing belts to be changed if they haven't been.
And if there is a rake kite on the front end, I understand it makes them easier to steer.

Like Ron said, check on maintenance info. Other than that the 1500's are very reliable. If issues arrive, they are easily rectified.

Where abouts are you located in PA.??? The reason I ask is I have had 2 - 1500's and current one is a Motor Trike conversion. Like Ron said the rake kit does make it easier to steer but mine does not have one and I have no issues.

The 88 & 89 wings had a hesitation problem. A 4 degree or 6 degree tiimng wheel will fix that problem. Easy to change when you are doing the timing belts.

Thanks for all the great feedback, it’s most helpful. Never expected to be on a trike but health issues are making it necessary. The extra wheel will keep me in the wind a bit longer. Plus, my wife said if I get a trike she’ll ride with me. Bonus!!!
