Corbin vs Ultimate Seats

I am in the process of doing some research before I purchase a new seat for my 2014 wing. I am looking for any feedback or expeience with the Corbin or Ultimate seats. I realize this is a very subjective topic but I am attempting to make the best possible purchase decision. Thanks for you all your feedback in advance.

Corbin makes a very decent saddle, but not everyone likes them. They are "firm" but sculpted and very supportive. I had a Dual Tour on my Vulcan chopper-ish custom and it was great. Also had a Dual Sport on my ST1300 and ti was hands down superior to the stock seat. But a piece of plywood might have been better than that stock seat IMO. I've never hear a single complaint on the Ultimate seats and I would seriously consider that or a Hartco if I ever did a seat swap on my Wing. Corbin can be a tad hard to deal with, not very communicative IMO. But that could be due to me being in Canada.

I put the ultimate seat on my 1500 Kawasaki and it was much much better than the stock seat. On my wing, Iím just using the air hawk which has proved to be more than comfortable on my long trips. I canít justify spending over $1000 for the ultimate seat. Itís a very good seat, but in my opinion, itís not a $1000 gooder.

I, like you, am hesitant to drop big money without trying something. I had an Ultimate on my GL1500 and have one still on my Valkyrie but bought the seats used. I was/am fully satisfied with both of those. I had a deal on a used Ultimate for my GL1800 but it fell through. I would try a used one if I can but do remember that Ultimate offers a full refund if you don't find you like it.

I had a Mustang on another Valkyrie and a Yamaha and didn't like them but my friend loves his Mustang on his F6B.

I also tried a Hartco on my GL1500 for a while (also a used purchase). Never really got used to it and resold it.

I have not owned a Corbin but had a ride on GL1500 equipped with one and seemed comfortable.

You should take a ride to Schroader's, Terry stocks the Corbin seats at least you can sit on the different styles he has. I bought my last two from him each time I picked up a new bike there, I paid 1300.00 for the last seat.

I ride an Ultimate Seat and I'm really happy with the comfort. I only wish it was waterproof, but I haven't found an aftermark seat that is, so I can't really ding them for that. If you are unsure, buy the Ultimate. You can ride it for 14 days, and send it back if you don't like it. Just do it before the 14 day. They'll refund your money, minus about $50 to cover shipping.
