Goldwing USB

I am having trouble with my USB on a 2012 wing. A 6 foot cord will work but a 10 foot will not. I'd like to wire it to the front to mount my iPhone on the handlebars. Any ideas?

Try this and wire it to the ACC jack under the left top shell pocket.

Thank you. I'm looking to have my iPhone play through my aux and get charged. Will this do both or only charge?

Only charge. I'm not an iPhone owner so I can't answer that but I would think you could connect a cheap bluetooth
receiver to the aux in and marry/pair it to your phone.

The USB slot in the trunk let the iphone recognised as an ipod and the handlebar controllers can be used to switching songs.
But plugging the phone in the trunk is not a good option.
I tried to get an USB cord and wire it all the way down the bike to the left glovebox in the front but when i use this cord the audio system didn't recognise the iphone.
as you said a 6 foot cord can be recognised by the system ?
My cord i think was 2 meters long but did not work.
If this has a solition I will be glad also.
Wanna use the iphone for music and dont want to plug any flashdiscs with mp3's in the trunk.
Cause i use Apple Music and dont want to bother with downloading mp3's from the internet.
And dont want to plug the phone in the trunk
Do i want so much things ???
Or do i have to order a brand new 2018 goldwing tour ???

Sorry but I can't help with that. One suggestion is to make sure you are using a good high quality usb cable.

My old i-phone is now just a big i-pod for my tunes. but fully charge I'm good for two full (12 hour) days listening to my i-tunes list. the newer ones with all the bells and whistles and still functioning as a phone are likely harder on the battery. You should still be able to get a full day's tunes and then recharge at night....of course, you could also plug in a USB adapter in the 12v plug-in and keep charged as you roll. The aux audio hook up works well for me.

Look into Garmin GPS ZUMO 595 model. Mine connects with my phone, and you can see who is calling you, also has internet radio stations, pulls music from my phone, has tire pressure reader, and of course motorcycle friendly GPS with a lot of cool options. It's not cheap, but worth it to me.

I recently bought a Tomtom Rider Navigation device so I can not invest on Garmin. Ans as you said it's so pricy.
I think the best solution is to buy a an ipod and plug it to the trunk USB.
It will always be there and charged by the bike.
cause i dont like the quality of aux. the ipod interface sounds better and can switch the songs on the handlebar which is important to me.
