USB in trunk

The owners manual on the Wing identifies a USB plug in for iPod and other USB music related files. It is apparently controlled by the "AUX" button on the controls. Does it also provide a power source at the USB? I want to charge up two GoPro batteries and was hoping that it would work from the trunk mounted USB?

Welcome Red. As the other respondents mentioned it is a powered source, but only >10 watts near as I know. It simply plugs into the factory under seat harness/pig tail if memory serves. Can be a tad painful to locate the correct plug but it is there.

Have any of you had any issues with this device heating up, or cause for concern over starting a fire?

My Wife has a 2015 and hers charges in the trunk. It is a bit of a dumb placement when you have a lot of stuff in the trunk when you are on long trips. I know she sometimes has to find it sometimes to make an adjustment. It begs the question, why is there no Bluetooth?

Bought this to hold my IPod on the side of the upper trunk, works well and keeps it out of the way.

That new dash is amazing as is the bike. Not sure I would drop the cash on a new one as my 2010 is perfect and has low mileage.
