Speedometer accuracy

The speedos on most bikes I've owned have the usual 'liability error' of indicating 3 to 5 miles over actual speed. I've not been able to verify my 2007 against anything yet. Are wings known to have a bias?

My 2004 reads 60 when it really is 56 measured with gps. Ends up being about 6-7% high at most speeds. I've read if you go up in tire aspect ratio from 60 to 70 size for the rear it helps correct the speed. Not sure what effect is when going dark side with a CT. My last bike, HD RK was pretty much right on, but most of the bikes I've owned were off by 6-8%.

GPS is not 100% accurate. The width of the tire has no bearing on the accuracy of the speedometer. Most bikes are 3-5% off coming out of the factory.

Never said width of the tire changes accuracy of the speedometer, I said increasing the height (diameter) of the tire will change the speedometer reading.

2010 are spot on. I think Honda fixed this in 2009 but not positive on that.

If you are interested in accuracy get a speedohealer. You will be able to adjust the speedometer to what ever accuracy you want.

And yes Honda fix the error around 2010 model year but 2006 -2008 are off by about 7% don't know about the 2009

My 2008 is off by 3 mph (slow) showing 63mph while I'm doing 60 mph. This is via my TomTom GPS.

PD: I assumed you meant width instead of height. Stock width is 180 and stock height or aspect ratio is 60. You cannot have a height of 190 as you said.
