Ditto Kerry. We forgot to look at your Dragon vid too Doug...geez.

Only thing I saw tons of on the way home was bugs. Great big bugs. If you thought my screen was buggy in the afternoon, you shoulda seen it when I got home. Gonna take the top section off and soak it in the kitchen sink tonight.

Doug, the Icefields are about an hour and a half south on the Parkway (93 south) highway. Well worth the ride if you have time. Cute spot at Sunwapta Falls as well for a cool beverage on a hot day. Traffic should be light and not much for crowds yet either at the Glaciers. The headwaters of our own Athabasca River are there.

grab all the kicks you can baby, you only make this scene once!

I arrived at the Jasper campsite just as raindrops started. Nothing big yet. Pitched the tent and headed into town. Visibility is poor anyway. Besides, If the views heading north don't surpass the ones south, I'm making a big mistake.

That's a bummer man. So very beautiful when Mother Nature strips off the gown. But we need the rain desperately. Rubber side down, rain spots up pal.

Looks like you're taking the same route as we did in Jun, 2014. However, during our 46 days out, we had only 3 rain days, total. We did not camp, however. Also, we went to Anchorage first and then to Fairbanks. From Fairbanks, we rode AK 2S to Tok and down to Stewart, BC on BC37(incredible scenery and wildlife) and on to Prince Rupert, BC. From there, we took the BC Ferry to Port Hardy, BC, Vancouver Island (a 12 hour ride along the inside passage with incredible scenery/wildlife but no whales, however) and then rode the 300 amazing miles to Victoria, BC, before another ferry ride to Vancouver and on towards home. Hope your ride is as great as ours was. Be safe.

BTW, we also had the distinct pleasure of meeting Kerry (edmKC) and his son Pendleton, who led us on a fantastic ride through the mountains from Canmore to Golden, BC. Beautiful ride!

The Fire passed by Thursday, so I was escorted through the aftermath yesterday. There are still hotspots to watch out for. Fire teams are still working the sites. You can easily see that the fire hops all over the place. Fire teams deserve all the thanks we can give them.

I'm still keeping my blog going. Prices of everything is going up as I get further away from civilization, but wifi is still free. Gas 1.19.

I hope to get to Watson Lake today, from Fort Nelson. It may be a stretch.
