Let me rephrase that If we sit around and talk about Chopin we won't have any time to ride . So when we sit around and limit ourselves to a few 30 minute "Chopin sections" I will allow someone with the skills to update my maps and charge me the the going Ohio beer rate along with dinner and if Chopin is up to it maybe show ..

A new headlight bulb would be great! I'll bring it and you can "help" install it while you juggle, play the banjo and drink coffee with the other hand. Thankful for your multiple skills Pete.

Now me, I'll not do it for you but talk you through while you do it. Just like Lee showed me. That way you will have the skill. Those giant hands can do it, trust me.

I CAN! It's just fun to be mesmerized by Pete's skills. Always amazes me! I might delay the ride if I have to use my big hands. Lol.

When I plan a ride I have a tendency to look for historic sites. So here is what I’m suggesting.

We will head out on Hwy 26 for some excellent curves. There are three covered bridges right along this road. https://goo.gl/maps/Yb343WcXDEr
Hune Bridge was built in 1879 and I drove across this one a few years ago. Rinard Bridge was built in 1876, but was destroyed in a flood and rebuilt in 2006. Knowlton Bridge was built in 1887. We keep going up to Hwy 800 and then to Woodsfield where we will pick up Hwy 78.

For Steve, as he likes to take a picture of his bike in front of prisons, just before the next site we go right past Noble Correctional Institution. https://goo.gl/maps/JhNiYXynq8S2

One place along the road that we can make a quick stop at (for those who are interested) concerns the USS Shenandoah, ZR-1. This rigid airship was the first in its class. It first flew on 4 September 1923 and was 680 feet long and 93 feet high. It was also the first rigid airship to use helium. It was designed for fleet reconnaissance work for the Navy. It took off 2 September 1925 with a crew of 43 on a promotional flight to the Midwest. On the morning of 3 September the airship was caught in a thunderstorms violent updraft which carried it above the pressure limits of the gas bags. It was torn apart and crashed in several pieces. https://goo.gl/maps/k7jNkhgaupk

Fourteen of the crew died in the crash, but 29 survived in riding three sections of the airship to the ground. The bow landed right along the McConnelsville Road, which is Hwy 78. Here is a picture of the airship in its glory and the bow section where it landed.

This is 21 miles from where I was thinking of stopping for lunch in McConnelsville at the Blue Bell Diner.

After lunch we head over to a reputed excellent motorcycle road, Hwy 555 and we will take that south to Bartlett where we can pick up Hwy 550 which will take us back to Marietta.

Well that’s the HAT ride. There will also be a map for a SAT and CAT ride. But we could stay here a week and not run out of good roads to experience. Like Big Ken said; "Whatever, lets ride".

The Incident Meteorologist started looking at the weather today. But he thinks it's too far out to be reliable. In a couple more days he'll let us know what the best weather guess is.
