We had 25 mph sustained with 35 mph gusts riding 2-up across Illinois farmland on the way to the Banner Elk M&G last month, with the wind mostly broadsides to us. I just tried to ride loose and let the Red Ghost move some, relying on her mass to dampen out the gusts. I had to slow more for corners because we were already heeled over while watching for terrain or large trucks that could accentuate the gusts. We had a loaded trailer hitch rack and a large bag on the luggage rack that increased our sail area.
