Sorry to hear about your accident Ralph. Hope you heal quickly and completely.

Ralph, a period of reflection is a good thing. Like Doc, I have had days when I'm off a bit and my mind/body isn't quite right when riding. If you need to ride hard every time you're on the bike then perhaps it's time. However if you can back off the throttle (ride your own ride), and enjoy, there is no reason to pack it in.

Plenty of fun times to be had not running as fast as the hard riding pack.

Best of luck with everything

Kathi and I made it to Louisville KT at 1730. We made some extra stops just to cool down and hydrate. We were also stuck in a traffic jam due to a traffic accident, but Google rerouted us off on the next exit and around the problem area. Then we noticed some dark clouds ahead that appeared to be dumping on the area and I suggested that we stop and put on our rain gear. Kathi said that she did not want to, which I thought was reasonable since it was 92 f at the time. So we spent over an hour in mostly torrential downpours, at times going as slow as 25 mph (in a 70 zone). The temperature plunged to 70 f and we got drenched. In spite of that, we were more comfortable than in the heat. I drove very conservatively and the lightning kept it's distance.
We have a 5 hr ride (plus stops) tomorrow (today's was supposed to be 6 hrs instead of the 8 that it took), with a similar weather pattern of lots of heat and then T-storms waiting for us at home. I wonder if we will go for the rain gear tomorrow?

Well, our hopes of leaving early and beating the T-storms at home are not turning out. We have drizzle and dense fog until 9 this morning. I can't even see the bike across the lot from us out of our room window. I think I can make out where it should be, but that is it.

Sounds like everyone had a fantastic weekend (with the unfortunate incident with Madrussion mishap). Sounds like I missed a good one. I wish everyone a good Memorial

Left our campgrounds near Elk Rapids this morning and now we are at Ironhorse campgrounds near Robbinsville. We are going to spend a couple days here riding this area. Then head for home.
