Well, the time has come for me to stop riding long distance. As most of you know I lost 150lbs 2 years ago this month on my Cardiologist advice that I wouldn't be alive in 2018 if I didn't. It appears to be too little too late though. I took 2 different 600 mile round trips Saturday and Monday. When I got home my chest hurt bad and my arthritis was so bad I couldn't move. I went to my appointment with my Cardiologist yesterday and he suggested, after my EKG, that I not subject my body and heart to the stress of long motorcycle trips. I told him about this trip and he strongly suggested I pass. I'm not going to stop ridding yet, but I guess I'm done doing more than 300 miles per day, per week. We haven't canceled our pet-friendly room at the motel yet so if someone wants it, let me know and I'll let the motel know. We are going to miss all of you very much, but health comes first.

Your right Alan, health does come first. We will miss you. Ride safe, even if it's short rides.

I reread what I wrote and I didn't mean to imply I was on my death bed. I get around pretty good and am able to ride my tractor to brush hog and such, but just can't do it for long periods. I ride the bike instead of taking the car whenever I can. It's just the long times setting in one spot that is really bothering me. I do different things like squirm around, stand up on the pegs, etc. trying to get comfortable and I guess that puts a strain on my heart. I don't know. I do know, it ain't much fun to ride in pain.

I've been thinking I might just defy the Doctor and come anyway, but I took a short 200-mile trip on the wing today and may just heed his warning. We are still considering coming in the car or trailering the wing, but if we do we'll probably be camping because of the extra fuel expense, so if anyone wants our room at the motel, let me know soon. Either way, Carol can help drive that way, but time will tell. I've got to make a 250 mile round trip in the car next week so we'll see how that goes. Wish me luck. After missing Cody because of Carol breaking her leg, we really don't want to miss this one.
