Would as of have really liked to have joined you guys on this trip but was cross threaded with other commitments.

I am doing the best I can. I have drank about a gallon of tea and another gallon of water. All is good I think. The good thing today was the humidity was down. Tomorrow not looking good. Hot with a good chance of storms.

I know full well what you are dealing with Ray, was in that kind of heat on the way home last year.Temps in the 110-112 range all through SD, WY and MT. Take care and stay hydrated, heat exhaustion can be a sneaky devil.

Get-To-Gether -

Hey RayJ - Our group is scattered around on the east side of Dallas. My wife and I are currently visiting Washington D.C., Virginia and then to West Virginia. Or I should have said (after being corrected by some locals) "West By-God Virginia". Out here there is evidently a difference.

The capital buildings were a bit too crowded for my taste. The memorials - Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, WWI, WWII, Korea and Viet Nam, etc.... were all very moving.

Still Couldn't load or attach ANY [email protected]$% photos. I've trimmed, cropped, sliced, diced and cut them down until they are almost gone -
still says TOO large ??????

Ride Safe- Michael

Understand the crowded issue. I lived in Longview for a while until 1995 and then moved to Austin. Have a house in both MS & TX so count both. Going back thru there when off this trip. Maybe we can catch up at some point.

Boy are things looking up. Yesterday’s ride from El Dorado, KS To North Platte, NE was great. No big temps and wind was no big deal. The roads ar not so good. Miles and miles of straight due north or due west. Boring! I left about 5:30 again due to big storm forecast for later in the day. Rode about 450 miles by 2:30 and got to a good hotel. It was 74 in North Platte when I arrived. I did good and the storm hit about 8:30. A little later then forecast. This morning it was 52. Yah hoo. Been really nice all day.

Today I rode the track of the old organ trail. Amazing ride. Rode from North Platte up the river to Scott’s bluff Ne and then headed north to rapid city, SD. It is about 70 right now. Plan to try to make Gillette WY tomorrow going thru the Badlands National park, Mount Rushmor, and Devils Tower. Then off to Belgrade to meet the WA gang.

Got some great pics today. Wish I kne how to post them with this iPad.

Glad to hear it cooled off for you Ray. I stopped at many of those Oregon Trail sites on my way back from Cody a few years ago. Also that ride from Scotts Bluff to the Badlands of South Dakota was really nice.
