starter problems

Hello everyone I have been push starting my 81 wing for the last week any ideas on how to test the starter. The silaniod is clicking lowd.

thank you for the info guys. I got my bike fixed the starer was bad. Ihad an old one so I took it apart and cleaned it and it works like a charm. I think it may have even fix my starting problem. sometimes it would turn over but take longer to fire up but now it dont even turn over one full turnrotation thank you very much.
