Default Vin

Hope some one can help. I've got a 1980 Goldwing with an 11 digit vin. Right now I'm trying to get a title for this bike, but am afraid tlhat it might not be legal. Is this normal? I read on website that someone else had this number of digits as well. If any one can lend some insight I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks, Doug

Default Vin

Are You Sure You Are Looking In The Right Place ? According To My Honda 1980 Goldwing Service Manual The Frame Serial Number Is On The Right Side Of The Steering Head. The Vin Is Located On The Left Side Of The Steering Head. Frame Serial Number Of Course Is Different Than The Vin And Only Identifies The Frame That Was Assigned To A Specific Vin. Hope This Helps..

I checked on both sides of the steering head. Both numbers are the same. The vin is on a honda name plate on the left side, and the frame number is stamped into the metal on the right side.
