My second-hand 2005 Gold Wing came with a different ignition key and lock to the other key and locks (fairing pocket and trunk) and no remote.
After contacting a spares dealer in the UK they determined from my VIN that my bike has (or maybe had!) the HISS security system fitted. They quoted me a price for a complete set of new locks and keys and a remote, but also said I might need a new electronics kit for the security system/remote to work. When I asked them how I could determine whether I would need the extra electronics they couldn't tell me.
Can anybody help? How do I test whether the electronics related to security and ignition are still working or not? My super expensive Clymer manual has nothing to say about HISS security system at all.
