I went to move my 83 Goldwing yesterday and discovered that when I pushed the rear brake pedal down that it remained in the down position.

The brakes worked and they released when I forced the pedal back up. I couldn't find anything visibly wrong.

I am thinking that the rear mastercylinder needs to be rebuilt. But, I don't want to just start parts replacing.

I figure that someone here has had a similar problem and knows what the problem is.

I am not an expert. But I have noticed when looking at used wings this happened quite a bit after they sat for awhile. It seems that a good spraying of lube on the pivot point where the spring is fixed it most of the time.
