Just R&R'ed the carbs on an '88 1500.

Ain't my first rodeo w/carbs. Done many a car and in-line side drafts before. This IS my first w/a Wing and its fuel system.

Wing had rust bigtime in the tank, evacuated & cleaned it down to bare steel,no problem.

Reassembled, only to have carbs flooding to the tune of 1/2" of gas on the butterflies, until the ignition is shut off.

The bike is not mine, the owner cleaned and reinstalled the fuel pump before I could look at it.

Have a factory manual but it does not delve into theory.

Any input would be appriciated,

Thanks in advance, Rusty1

Tap,Tap,Tap... is this thing on?

Found the vacuum diaphram in the fuel control valve is shot.

Is the diaphram available seperate?

Speed supplies.com wants $138.64 + shipping, for the whole unit.

Can't seem to be able to open up Ron Ayers page, any ideas?

The local stealership wants $169.00 for the whole valve.

Thanks detdrbuzzard,

Got into Ronayers. They want a buck15, so ayers it is.

Just hope this cures the problem, the manual I have is a Clymer, not factory.

It doesn't go into much detail.
