Just got my first goldwing. Started with the 82 interstate. Just upgraded from an 81 Silverwing which has served me very well. Joke is by the time i'm 90 I may get into the 90's bikes.

Anyhow, wife took the first spin and said the floor boards are a tad far back thus only catching half of her foot. Certainly better than what she had but wondering about geting them forward 3-4 inches. Any mod kit for this?

phew...first post complete!

My 2005 1800 GL has great big floor boards for the rear passenger, but it was helpful to get a new wife with smaller feet. Maybe the ones form the 2005 and forward will work for your wants,

You do not want the floorboards too far forward or you will be catching your heel on them when you start out. tell her to live with them.

Consider getting hiway pegs for yourself, then she can share your regular foot pegs. We did that on our '83 Interstate. My wife enjoyed being able to reposition her feet. PS: on our '89 GL she is asking for some rubber pads on the front of the hard trunks; she'd like to rest her toes on the floor boards and rest her heels agains the front of the trunks. I'm looking for something.

Don't know if they make what you are looking for for a model that old. I know some guys have gone to the "transformer boards" for passengers, but not sure if they will fit your bike. Check eBay or Craigslist to see if anything is available used. You can also check here:
