I have an 85 GL1200 Aspencade the radio comes on but there is no sound. Sometimes it works some times it doesnt. Any suggestions. Also I would like to put an aftermarket radio and CD player anyone have any suggestions on swapping this and how it could be done. Thanks in advance for any information.

If there is a mute button on the left handle bar, check that it isn't stuck. If you have a rheostat for the "auto volume" check to see that there isn't a dead spot. Just rotate it full travel several times left and right. Make sure that the radio is properly seated in the cradle. Pull it out and reseat it back in.
Can't help you with the aftermarket stuff. Don't have any decent wiring diagrams or knowledge.:cool:
