I am having intermittent trouble with my CB, installed on my '05 1800. It will work fine, then all of a sudden the volume will go to 0. I turn it back up and it works again for a bit. Then it will flash error on the screen, I turn the CB off, and turn it back on and it will usually work. It has a mind of it's own. It may work for a day or two at a time, or it may act up 4 or 5 times on one trip. All the connections have been checked. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Welcome to the forum TJ. I'll look and see if I can find anything. Hopefully there's someone in here that's a tad brighter than me about electrical gremlins. Hopefully it's something simple.

Are you getting a CB error message on the screen?
Make sure you turn the CB off.
Restart the engine-wait at least 15 seconds, then turn the CB back on and see what happens.
There has been similar concerns posted on another board and it seems the answer was low voltage from batteries that needed replaced!
Will throw a CB error if it's on when trying to start because of low voltage!
Load test your battery.
