SuperBrace 08-09-2010, 11:57 AM Ya try and snap some pictures and email them to info@superbrace.com
Would love to see some more awesome rides
chopin114 08-09-2010, 04:48 PM If this is a contest of who has the most disposable income, I will loose hands down. I figure the contestant who wins your prize can afford your product. For the sake of participation, I'll submit.
SuperBrace 08-09-2010, 05:01 PM This in now way is a contest of "who spent the most" on their bikes. It is completely up to the public and who they feel is the coolest/most unique/bike they would like to ride, other their own.
Feel free to plug and try and hustle as many votes as possible... :)
If this contest gets a lot of publicity and views, we will be running monthly contests for American made, quality parts. Not all will be a "popularity contest." But a new theme each month.
Keep the submissions coming!!!

I vote for " Rapier" ! Not because he has the best bike color, but because he has the best advertising agency, hands down ( or up ).
SuperBrace 08-09-2010, 05:27 PM If you care to vote as of now, Rapier is Bike #1 and zhdrummer is Bike #2.
We are still going through the entries for bikes 3-5. Get those votes and submissions in!!!
chopin114 08-09-2010, 05:47 PM How can I vote against my closest friend and personal confederate in riding!! What's good for him is good enough for me.
SuperBrace 08-09-2010, 05:54 PM 1 vote for you is 1 against him!!! :)
chopin114 08-09-2010, 08:29 PM For what it's worth.....This means war !
Rapier 08-09-2010, 09:17 PM Oh man, I'm in trouble... He got TWO dogs and I only have one belly dancing girlfriend!!!

You have the lighted spoiler, fog lights, luggage rack/ storage bag, and " back seat comfort package ". I have two cup holders, neither one of which can hold those cups in your picture. But....... I'll give you a run for the prize anyway.
2003 GL1800 POLICE 08-10-2010, 09:53 AM chopin, This is not about disposiable income. This is about the bike I worked 3 years at 2 jobs to be able to put together the ride I dreamed of all my life. I am 50 yrs young, own my own auto shop and worked nights on call as a wrecker driver, I am the guy on the interstate at 3 in the am that was cleaning up the drunk drivers wreck in 100 degree heat in August and the same one in 28 degree rain in january. The same guy you cussed at at 3 pm cleaning up the wreck so you could make your t-time. I have spent countless hours in my garage putting on the lights I wanted. I will not submit my mc because of people who do not apprechiate long hours of hard work to get what you want in life. This only puzzles me because I thought gw owners were a special breed. I will never attend a gw rally, nor post pics anywhere of my bike! I EARNED IT. SO I GUESS I WILL KEEP IT TO MYSELF.
Rapier 08-10-2010, 11:09 AM 2003, I don't think that Chopin meant what was interpreted from his message. I have no problems with anyone entering their ride from "straight off the showroom floor stock" to "oh, but they have everything that was ever made for a GL on that thing!" Enter you ride if you wish, but I don't think anyone wants to try to eliminate any entry just because someone else had more money to spend.
Besides, who can compete with a belly dancing girlfriend next to their favorite ride?! :D:);)
chopin114 08-10-2010, 04:57 PM Good 'ol Rapier, always gives the right answer with a little twist at the end. I subscribe to the theory that " You can't loose if you don't play " and it has kept me from being a looser most of the time; but I could not stand by and see our good member " Rapier " enter his bike and employ the most despicable diversion tactics without a response. Truth be told, I liked his presentation and any one who would stoop so low I deem worthy of my vote, even if it's contrary to my advantage. Two aspects that old members here would attest to : (1). Chopin's posts are NOT usually technical: (2). Chopin's posts are Not always to be taken literal. Remember, a vote for me is a " freedom " vote. P.S. Bike #1 does NOT have a drink holder.
chopin114 08-12-2010, 06:58 PM I am truly underwhelmed by the activity on this thread. Here is a chance to strut your stuff, enjoy some accolades or laughter from your peers, and maybe have a bit of fun to boot.
zhdrummer 08-12-2010, 11:55 PM P.S. Bike #1 does NOT have a drink holder.
My bike is also not about disposable income. Although, it has 2 drink holders ;) It is about functionality, expression and enjoyment. All the add ons serve a purpose in one of those areas. Sure, the trailer might seem like flare more than function to some; and to the guy who suggested too much disposable income, I might just be pulling a tent out of that trailer, the same night you're in your expensive hotel room. It's all about personal choice....and if it is "disposable" income, can there be too much? I'm confused.
This attempt of a fun game, provided graciously by Superbrace, is a great chance to finally put one of their braces on your GW, for free! We also get to share pics of motorcycles we apparently all enjoy in common. It is intended to let GW owners show the choices we've made. Even if that choice is to take the purist route and leave it stock.
Now, where were we?

@chopin114
I have a couple of questions.
Do you have an opinion on this thread?
I meant, do you have an opinion on this thread? ;)

zh: You don't accumulate 1,372 post on this Forum by NOT having an opinion. Facts few, opinions many. And anyone here would corroborate that self opinion. There has been " much ado about nothing " regarding the " disposable income " remark. Ever hear of the " appeal to sympathy " argument? I needed an " edge " to enter this as I looked at the competition. Well it guess it didn't work because only the " comment" became the topic of interest. Oops! No sympathy on this board!!!!!!!!! Truth be told, I think you need the Superbrace more than me. That complete rig of yours looks mighty heavy.
2003 GL1800 POLICE 08-13-2010, 09:15 AM You know what they say about opinions!!!!!
zhdrummer 08-13-2010, 01:11 PM @Chopin,
Well, with your sig line, I had to ask twice!
I do agree that my bike is heavy and probably would benefit greatly from a Superbrace. That happens to be how I found this thread. I was researching fork braces. I just put new Dunlop E3's on her and thought now would be the time before any cupping starts on the front. The front take off tire was showing signs of needing help from a front brace.
As far as opinions go, or giving them, it looks like I found the right place. Everyone seems to take it, and give it, in stride and to me, the internal slagging, so far, mostly shows friendship and caring.
Anyway, I look forward to hanging out here and learning much more from my fellow Goldwingers and associated vendors.

The poll closes tomorrow. I've run out of funds ( or friends ) to buy more votes. Damn tough to run as an independent in this arena! Barring any unforeseen miracle, let us know how the Superbrace has changed your ride!!!!!!! If you want a second opinion, ask me twice twice.
fossil92 08-14-2010, 10:58 AM Sorry Maestro. I had to make it interesting. Besides I told you that I have a thing for bellydancers.
Cmon guys it's down to the wire. Let's have a couple more votes cast.

chopin114 08-17-2010, 03:34 PM The strategy worked. We eliminated zhdrummer in the first round, unless he buys another bike.
