I have 87 1200a and have noticed heavy black fluid slung around back wheel and tire on drive shaft side, have checked rear dope level a it is full and great shape, fluid feels like grease that has gotten hot and slung out, looks almost like tar on bottom of rear drive. Any ideas and fixes????????

Steve, The driveshaft has a zerk grease fitting. Check the rubber boot for rips. Happened to me on me 1100
