I'm poaching here as I run a 2007 VT1100C, but am seriously considering a 1999 GL1500SE. The bike is immaculate but has 98,000 miles. The dealer is pretty close to average retail ($8895) but I'm wondering where the weak spots are in the 1520cc, what I should be on the lookout for when examining below its beautiful skin?

you can feel the frame flex when you push it realy hard in the curves, you know riding it like its a sport bike. one of the 1500's i test rode had 147,000 miles on it and ran just as good as the ones i rode with 90,000 miles but i held out and found a '93 se with only 39,000 miles on it

Thanks! How long ago did you find your '93?

The '99 I'm looking at averaged around 10K/year which keeps the vital juices flowing, bearing from flattening, etc. I'm just as concerned about a bike that hasn't been regularly run as I am with one that's been run to death.:eek:
