spinifex 04-19-2010, 06:50 PM Hi just joined up and live in Perth West Oz. A few tips would be appreciated, am looking at a GL1500 1996 with 65 000 miles on it. What needs to be checked out on this model? I have seen timing belts mentioned, when are they due to be changed? The belts will be due soon (around 80k if memory sreves me correctly) ask the owner if they were done & see if they have records of maintenance that will help. Most Wingers a borderline anal about their rides, but due dilligence is in order always.:D Two Wheel Wing 04-20-2010, 07:47 AM Welcome to the forum from the Keystone state. Make sure all of the options work properly, (cruse control, radio, CB if installed, etc). Those are expensive to fix. Also check fluids and hoses for any cracks. With only 65K on her, the bike has a lot more enjoyable miles left in it.
