hooked up my zumo 550 loaded a music card but when i play through the aux i get engine whine through the sound system my ipod plays fine i used a direct line for power to the gps, i have read about a isolater will this solve my problem. tp

I was a Signal Officer in the Army and what you are having is impedance mis match and all you need is a ground loop isolator.

I got mine here on the internet for $5.00 plus 1.50 shipping. I connected it to the right angle plug under the left glove box and hooked the other end into the mini plug on the GPS. No more whine for less than $7.00.

I velcroed it to the back of the clutch resorvior then secured it a bit more by taping it tight.
