whoville2 02-18-2009, 03:53 PM What is the AMA's position on the mini bike ban as part of this rediculous law banning anything, including motorcycles and ATVs, for kids under 12 that MAY contain lead? This is nothing more than an assault on capitalism and our freedoms as Americans.....

chansen96 10-13-2010, 10:28 AM I know I am late to the party but here is my two cents. I have been a member of the AMA for 24 years now. Used to use my discount for my prescription glasses. That was before glasses got just flat out expensive. When I did use it, it saved my a bunch, to the point of more than $100.00. More then paid for my membership.
I have never, knock on wood, had to use the roadside assistance. The main reason I continue my membership is I am a fan of what they do for motorcyclist, both on and off road, rights.
I am also a member of ABATE of IL. for the same reason.
Two Wheel Wing 10-13-2010, 03:14 PM I'm a member. An organization that promotes and protects motorcyclists rights and privileges and sponsors good riding habits is worth being a part of.
oldtimer 10-13-2010, 03:41 PM Member here since 04.......for all of the above reasons.........
BARNSTORMER 03-03-2011, 11:07 AM A wise young man once said "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". I hope you all know who that was. If not, ask here and I will tell you.
The point is, joining the AMA should be done as an act of support for all motorcycling, not to avail oneself of whatever perks there are. If they have something available that you can use, go for it, but that should not be the primary reason for joining.
