Just wanted to compare notes with other owners. I have an 84 GL1200. I recently installed a UNI Foam filter. I did not notice a huge difference in performance, but seems to breath better than stock. I have noticed a lot more engine noise, nothing unbearable or troubleing more of a clicking/ticking type noise. Anyone else notice this with UNI's or K&Ns ?

when using a uni or k&n filter you'll hear the air being sucked into ( intake roar ) the engine. did you oil the filter before installing it? if not do it the oil is what trapps the dirt

Cool I noticed the air sound as well, seems a lot less restricted. Yes I did oil it, thanks for checking, I understand that some do not and I've read that a foam filter will not work correctly unless its oiled, hate to ruin my engine this early in the game:eek:. Thanks for the reply:)

i just did a tuneup and installed the k&n filter in the 1200. the 1500 will get k&n filter come spring
