: Superbrace
riogrande 11-05-2008, 11:51 AM Has anyone had experience with a Superbrace? (Rivco part # SB2318)
Apparently they claim to do the following:
Reduce low and high speed wobbles.
Improve stability in tight cornering.
Improve tire life and reduces cupping.
Decrease sensitivity to rough road surfaces and rain grooves.
Thanks!
detdrbuzzard 11-07-2008, 08:17 AM the brace will cut down on the forks flexing
Ian UK 1200 05-12-2009, 04:43 PM Hello from UK,
i was thinking of buying a Brace for my wing but does the standard brace not work as well, i have a US market Interstate 1200 with handling problems fully loaded up,
Ta Ian
detdrbuzzard 05-13-2009, 10:25 AM the superbrace is heavyduty compaired to the factory brace and yes it works better.
Two Wheel Wing 05-14-2009, 09:19 PM Had one put on my 98 1500 and it did help with frontend wobble. Worked as advertised.

charliektm400exc 01-11-2010, 04:53 AM Another satisfied customer.
Just put one on my 1500. I didn't have any problems with wobble at speed before, but what I did have, and has now completely gone away was a real unstable insecure feeling when coming to a stop.
That has now completely gone. I guess the forks were bending slightly under the load of the brakes, and now the brace has stopped that.
I bought the brace to improve things when cornering and it's done that as well, but if it had just fixed the low speed stuff and nothing else, it would have been well worth it.
Just buy one.

hitime 01-12-2010, 05:05 PM Will a superbrace make a big difference for a trike front end?
Two Wheel Wing 01-13-2010, 08:14 AM Will a superbrace make a big difference for a trike front end?
Assuming the trike still has the stock tree, I would think it would do for a trike what it does for 2 wheels. If the tree has been replaced it may already have something built into it to strengthen the front end.
Snoopy 01-13-2010, 10:33 AM I just put one on my 1500. Took 10 minutes & it does help handling.
Penthis 03-21-2010, 02:23 PM Both my brother and I replaced our stock units and swear the upgrade is exactly that - an upgrade. Definitely a good investment for bro's 05 and my 04.
So-Cal 03-21-2010, 04:32 PM I have used the super brace on all my 1500's (three) and one 1500 trike they all benifited from the brace and now am on my second 1800 and they both have had the brace--- it works very well on them since the 1800 forks are very weak and do flex a lot .
Bill 832 03-21-2010, 10:15 PM Had one on my kawi concours, and it really helped the handling of the bike. Dont know if they even make one for my 2010 wing, or if I need it...but it did help the other bike a lot.
Carl334 03-22-2010, 08:48 AM Shop around for your brace. There are a lot of overpriced stuff out there. The fancy machined ones are all covered up by the fender trim cover!
bobby2407 04-07-2010, 09:10 PM i just got my superbrace, have to say not too impressed with the finish of the upper & lower fork covers ,polished metal, not chrome, but it does make a noticeable improvement in handleing
Thrasherg 04-08-2010, 09:53 AM Could someone post a picture of the super Brace? I was going to order a traxxion brace as I have the traxxion fork springs and want to order a traxxion rear shock, but am interested in seeing the super brace before I make a decision..

1800_haulin 08-05-2010, 11:29 AM You can check out my gallery. I have one on my 1800. I love it. Completely made a difference. And I love that its not chrome. Very low maintenence and won't ever have to get the piece re-chromed. Happy riding!! Hope that helped at all.
joey2010 08-24-2010, 07:57 PM Would this brace be hard to fit , bike feels ok ,but as this is my first WING i dont know , what needs to come out , dont want to make a balls ,and where is a good place to get one as i see plenty on e.bay in the UK . Many Thanks , Joey2010

Again another old post. I would assume that you have already made your decision, but to anyone else still considering a brace.
1. Fork braces are fine. The superbrace two piece affair isn't adjustable and can put lateral force on your forks that can effect their operation. Increasing sliction by misalignment will also cause earlier fork bushing failure, seal leakage and a stiffer ride.
2. Adjustable fork braces are made by Kuryakyn and Traxxion.
budoka 09-18-2010, 01:25 PM Joey, if you are referring to the Superbrace it is a direct bolt on replacement for the OEM brace (you have a 1200 right?). I put one on mine when the stock one developed some bad wear and what a huge difference it was. A few turns with an allen wrench and done like dinner.

Its the a no brainer. There inexpensive and fairly easy to install. You will be glad to put one on. It will improve handling.

i have fitted a new brace and it was easy enough to fit , but i have a question to ask , the fork cover needs to be cut , but i have no idea what and where to cut away the access , so could someone give me a idea what to remove , i havnt got a ride out yet . :):D
