Hey Bob, I just posted a threard in the Introductions portion of the board reference my VTX 1300C. Here is why I'm considering doing the same thing you did, trading my 1300 for a Goldwing. I’m 53 years old and should have bought a more comfortable bike. I ride 42 miles one way to work everyday, my back and butt takes a whipping. I don’t want to invest a lot of money in upgrades for the X because I don’t think this is the bike for me. I’m looking to find out as much information about the Goldwing as possible.
How do you like your Wing verses your 1300T? Thanks
Mike

[QUOTE=Canuck623;574] I want the CD player for mine but so far no good deals.
Canuck, I would stay away from the CD Player. I have one, had mechanical change error, sent it in to Honda (No choice) got charged $250. Reinstalled it, it rode around for a year using it very rarely and now have the same problem again.
Have you considered a MP3 player?
You can put a lot more songs on it and it's a lot cheaper!
I like the fact that the Wing is pre-wired for it! I use mine all the time.
I find I don't use my CB unless I ride with other GW in a group then it is great. Are you going to join the local club and take rides as a group?

Yeah I have been hearing nothing but bad about it so may pass. That's a lot of money for something that won't be reliable. I have one MP3 but the thing isn't good on batteries so may spring for the Ipod version. They are better.

If you go to eBay and search for this item number you can get a Honda Line CB for $575.00
Item number: 120322834162
Here is the URL to the Honda dealer. Call them up and talk to the guy that lists on eBay (I think its Matt) he will work with you.

Bob,
Good luck on finding a cheaper unit. Some people get lucky and just happen to be in the right place at the right time. I'm usually not one of them. I considered adding the CB to mine too 'till I found out the price. You've been suggested to try e-bay and maybe Craigs list. Of the forums I visit, 99% of the people looking for or thinking about the factory CB, don't get one due to the price. Many have gone to the FRS or GMRS radios with either the factory intercom as a medium or using something like Chatterbox or Autocom as the medium. Good luck and ride safe.
