We have been contemplating the idea of purchasing a used Goldwing for a while now. A huge concern for us is mileage. We are finding them with 50-70,000 miles or more. The question is "What is cosidered high mileage? How long can these things run before needing major repairs?" Any and all opinions will be greatly appreciated. Happy riding and be safe.

Hi
Guess that depends on how well it has been maintained. I baught mine with 150,000 miles and the engine/trans are in great shape. But then, I wanted that particular Wing.
My opinion is 70-100 k miles is not particularly high mileage. But thats my opinion. Again, any deal that's good for both buyer and seller is a good deal.

I have heard of Wings with over 200,000 miles on them if the fluids, oil and filter are changed according to the maint schedule. Any bike will require maint, so it's important to follow the schedule. The engines seem to be bulletproof when it comes to longevity.

Hi Jeff,
I bought my 'wing with about 43K on it and the engine has been a pillar of reliability. Burns no oil, runs great, quiet as a sewing machine and always fires right up. I think you can confidently consider any bike with the mileage range you listed. Have the seller fire it up if you're concerned but in my opinion any wing with less than 150K that has been maintained still has plenty of life left in it.

Thank you for all the replies. I asked a local dealer and he couldn't even give me a milage figure. All he said was indefinately. SO I figured this would be a good reference. Thanks again guys:D
