Hi, i have this great older goldwing..83 interstate...it runs great and i have done a lot of work to get it road worthy. When i cranked it up it taps for just a second before the oil starts to get into the head.

1 - is this really bad?
2 - is there anything i can do about this without having to put in a new oil pump?
3 - do most old wings do this?
4 - can a different oil help?

talked to my mechanic...he said it is Honda GN4 or 10-40

Would be a good idea to have the true oil pressure checked..
