2001 Honda Goldwing 1800
My speedometer sticks. On increasing speed it tracks upward OK but will not come down when decreasing speed. After I slow down a lot then it wll come down. What is the fix to this?

if its cable operated you could try pulling out the cable and lubing it
Had the same problem on my 1500 the plastic gears stripped out of the gear case on the front wheel, new gears and a new cable and $130.00 good as new. Might affect your cruise control too till you get it fixed. Good luck Matt

It is not cable driven, There is a service bulletin on it, your dealer will replace it, it's not a warranty item so your bike doesn't have to be covered by warranty.. If he gives you any trouble call American Honda at 866-784-1870
Here is a link to the bulletin

and here is a link to all the other srevice bulletins on the GL1800,

while you are at the dealer you might want to have him check if all the other recalls and service bulletins have been done on the bike. He can enter the VIN into his computer and find out
