Hi all, I am new here to this site and also as a Goldwing owner.I just picked up a 90 1500 Goldwing. It supposedly had much work just done on the engine. At an idle, it tends to occasionally surge a bit... any ideas on what may be causing this? I am thinking a possible fuel mixture issue.
Also I seem to be getting poor fuel mileage.. low 30's mpg. I am hearing that I should be getting about 40 or better. The bike runs fine, outside of taking quite a bit of time to warm up.( use to my 750 Shadow which warms up much quicker).Took her on a trip to New Hampshire with no problems as she ran great. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

You may want to clean your carbs. It sounds like a fuel mixture problem alright.
