WTB seat or seat cover 1988 GL1500

My new to me GL1500 has the bison brown seat but it has rips on each side up by the tank. If anyone has a seat they want to sell let me know.

Also considering one of the seat covers available on ebay. Anybody ever purchase and install one of those? Wondering if they're worth $100

I have had my share of stock seats and customs. I do not have a spare now but if I could steer you in a direction it would be to contact Hartco. They have seat covers for GL1500's and at least get a price from them.

I have owned 2 Hartco seats to this point (2 different bikes) and would buy another one in a heartbeat. Great comfort and my wife and I are routinely 500+ miles a day riders.

I looked at the Hartco and they are the ones to contact when I get ready to do it right!

Right now I have several things that need to get done and a limited budget (broke my ankle in March, still in a cast). Yep, I bought her without riding her yet. My riding buddy for years and now my Fiancee rode her and gave me the full report. Cast comes off in 2 weeks and I can't wait.

Tires and full fluid change top my list. I was just putting a feeler out there in case anyone had a seat in better condition laying around.

The covers on ebay look competent (maybe) but I'm thinking I might make some kind of temporary fix rather than spend $100 on something that may look really bad and make me more unhappy than the rips.

Thanks for your reply!

I would still contact Hartco, because I'm not sure that their covers will be that expensive. May be a touch over your budget but at least you will know.
