New 2012 Black Goldwing and paint issues

My Goldwing is only 5 weeks old and I have swirl marks and scratches showing up everywhere. I have only washed it once with a very mild car wash solution and have no idea what has happened. The trunk looks like spider webs covering it. Can anyone help. thanks

It sounds like swirl marks from a buffer, black is a color that will really show them.
Years ago some of the old paints would crack when there were multiple layer that hardened over time.
Would really have to see it to tell if it's buffer marks or paint that is cracking.
Not much help here.

Black is Beautiful! and really hard to keep looking its best. What are you washing/drying and polishing with? Soft and non abrasive is the key. Suggest some quality poishing compounds from Mothers, Meguires or 3M to remove scratches and polish. Invest in Microfier!

I had a black Pontiac Bonneville....once. Most brutal beast ever to keep clean and shiny. There's a product called Quixx that may help with the swirl marks; just the polishing paste, not the rubbing compound.

As sad before, black is an awful color to keep looking good. But there has been several complaints about the paint on the new wings being soft and several people are complaining. I'm sure Honda will step up and admit they have a problem just like they did with the over heating and frame cracking!! Yea right

It's a motorcycle, expect wind!!

No real help but, there have been several posts on other forums about "soft" paint on the Wings now coming from Japan.
My suggestion is visit a good paint shop and ask them to get the scratches/swirls out and then put on a good paint protectant/sealant, such as new car dealers offer.

My Black 2012 Wing has horrible paint! It requires a lot of work to keep it looking decent.

Like what has been posted, Black is a bitch to keep up. I had a black 1500 Aspencade and it took a lot of work. To keep the swirles to a minimum you use microfiber cloth not terrycloth or cotton both will put swirles in your finish.

Paint is not what it used to be. I spoke to Dodge on this matter they told me that, And I quote, "Thank the tree huggers" paint now has to be water soluble and have no toxic chemicals in it and this makes for paint that is soft and has a good bit of orange peal to it. How true this is I don't know but it is what Dodge told me about their lousy paint job on a new truck.
