Radio face-plate looks like marble

The radio face-plate cover on my 2000 GL 1500 looks like marble instead of smooth black.

What is involved so I can get the cover off and either replace or ?

Any help is appreciated.

Does it have a decal of some sort on it. A hair drier might get it lose, if it's a decal.

Is it just the radio cover or the surround that covers the top of the shelter?

If it is just faded, try Maxima SC1 Silicone Spray, it will make it look almost new.

Thanks

The face plate is plastic and surrounds the buttons on the radio. Everything else on this black GL1500 looks really nice. This one part seems to be really faded compared to everything else. I've tried a polymer plastic polish I purchased from a company that makes clear plastic items...fantastic on the windshield but no impact on the plastic...weird stuff!

The radio itself then. I don't think the faceplate can be purchased separately. There is a company that sells a decal kit that freshens up the faceplate.

I put those on my 1500 and they work and fit great, just make sure that you clean all the old sticky adhesive off, I missed some and it shows really bad, I am thinking of getting a new set and redoing it but this time clean, clean, clean
