F6b coming tonite!! Brake recall questions

So found out the 2013 that is being delivered tonight!!!!!! 3 days ahead of schedule!!!! Has not had the brake recall done. It has 2340 on the odometer so thinking I am ok on probably no damage, and wanting to schedule at a dealership to have it done. Spoke to one last week and asked him if the entire system is bled and fluid replaced and he said no an wanted to charge me extra 60 to have that done.

Called another dealership and their main mechanic not in until tomorrow and he said he did not no.

So question, How many got their complete brake lines bled with new blood on recall? thanks!!

My dealer did the entire system. The recall does require that, but he does it anyway. Good customer relations.

THANKS, yes and kind of sucks, I dont take it to the dealer ship a lot but I probably have used these guys to buy and put on 5 or 6 tires. not cool, the guy was acting like he was despising me for even mentioning I had heard of full drain and recall when doing the recall. Oh well, see what the other place says tomorrow....why do motorcycle dealerships all close on MONDAY, hate that!

Trying to recover from Sunday's injuries.

My dealer, just did the whole system without mentioning it. I found out from another member of the chapter while I was waiting for it to be completed.

The dealer that did mine said that they "HAD" to flush 1 qt of fluid through the front and rear..... total brake fluid replacement..... that they "HAD" to show that they used that much fluid to make sure it was all flushed.... since it is a linked system.

Had mine done in Cleburne Texas.... it took them about 4 hours

Let me take a different bike out to go get something to eat.

My Honda dealership said and did the exact same thing that Dsurley said. Are you sure you need a brake recall done? The recalls on the GL 1800s only went through 2012.

Keller, the recall does only state that the master cylinder be bled and replaced with fresh fluid. A decent dealership with pride will not release a Wing without doing the whole system though. we wouldn't dream of it. Yes it's should be extra cost to the owner but many will do it at no charge, it takes some extra fluid and about a half hour more to do.
