Leaving in early June for a 2-3 week summer trip to include: Rocky Mountain National Park and the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado; Arches and Zion national parks in Utah; Yosemite National Park in California; Crater Lake and Hell's Canyon in Oregon; among other things. Taking the trailer on its first trip since I drove it up from Houston after buying the bike almost 4 years ago; plan is to camp about 1/2 of the time. May rendezvous in OR/ID with my brother-in-law from Washington state. Plan is to return via the Cody, WY area, where I'll once again ride the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway and perhaps Beartooth Pass again. Should be quite a trip!
[Still planning to attend the April M&G in Missouri, the first road trip this year.]
Sounds like a fun trip and food cooked over a campfire.
You're on the mark: Can't imagine a much better day than motorcycling through canyons and mountains all day and then camping in them while enjoying a supper I make myself and eating it under the stars. Perhaps meeting like minded adventurers, too. That's a good day.
So, I'll not bring the Weber Smokey Mountain smoker nor the Weber Kettle on the trip, but I will have charcoal, assorted wood smoking chips, and a decent assortment of cooking utensils. That and camping gear is why the trailer will come along this time.
